About the Role

As a Wheelchair Transport Driver, you’ll provide essential transportation to individuals with mobility challenges. This role is hands-on and requires physical activity, compassion, and a commitment to safety. We offer guaranteed full-time hours, multiple shifts, and room for advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport clients to and from medical facilities using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Assist clients with boarding and exiting vehicles while treating everyone with dignity and care
  • Operate vehicles in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies
  • Complete pre-transport inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Use in-vehicle tablets for navigation and trip validation

Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum of 5 years)
  • Able to pass a Level 2 background screening (per AHCA guidelines)
  • Must pass a DOT physical and obtain a valid DOT medical card
  • Age 23 or older
  • Proficient in English (spoken, read, and written)
  • Friendly, dependable, and customer-focused with strong communication skills
  • Capable of assisting clients safely and lifting with team support as needed
  • Physically able to kneel, bend, lift, walk, and stand for extended periods
  • Commercial driving experience is a plus, but not required

Certifications (Provided by WTS Upon Hire if Needed)

  • CPR/First Aid
  • HIPAA Compliance
  • Defensive Driving
  • CTAA Passenger Assistance (PASS), Securement, and Sensitivity Training
  • VA Transporter Certification

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical movement. Applicants must be able to:

  • Kneel, bend, lift, walk, and stand for long durations
  • Pass a DOT physical, including vision, hearing, and cardiovascular evaluations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $18.00/hour + trip-based incentives
  • Full-time guaranteed hours with overtime opportunities
  • 401(k) with 4% company match after one year, plus additional retirement contributions
  • Up to 75% of medical premiums covered by WTS
  • Paid Time Off: 5 days after one year + 6 paid holidays after 90 days
